 +There was not really much of an option here in terms of updating the article. Most information was severely outdated for Slackware 15, but I tried to keep the original structure and as much content intact as possible. In practice, that was mostly the parts about cpufrequtils and /sys, but this section can be reworked into good information of how to use these tools and how to go about adjusting things with /sys. Probably, other specific "list" type information can be added at the end of the article, and I might do that myself. Particularly a lists of relevant Kernel parameters. I added some notes in some of the sections of this article too.

 This article should be updated for newer options like CONFIG_X86_ACPI_CPUFREQ and CONFIG_X86_INTEL_PSTATE, which allow wide frequency transitions for Sandy bridge and newer. For example, while a Core2 can change from 2.0 GHz to 2.5 GHz, a Haswell processor can change from 800 MHz to 3.4 GHz in an instant. This is very useful for desktops as it helps keep then much cooler than would otherwise be possible. It would also be nice if you could add the locations of each of the kernel options and some explanations about them. Also mention that 'ondemand' is useful for desktops, while 'conservative' is better used on laptops/netbooks.  +I believe this have to be updated since default governor is now ondemand an that for intel cpu using intel_pstate it defaults to performance. I also notice that cpufreq tools are in the full install.
