The HOWTO states that when using proprietary NVidia drivers, the user must install the 64-bit as well as the 32-bit version of the driver. I'm right now working on a Slackware64 desktop with the latest NVidia drivers. When installing the 64-bit driver (downloaded straight from NVidia), the installer offers to “Install NVIDIA's 32-bit compatibility OpenGL libraries? (yes/no)”. On the other hand, it's impossible to launch the stock 32-bit installer on Slackware64. It just complains about the driver being the wrong architecture for the system. Downloading lots of files over HTTP is cumbersome, at least on a browser. As it's not obviously easy with any other tool either, I'd like to share the command for downloading all relevant files. I think it should go to the multilib help text.

Small typo:

In the list of multilib packages for Slackware 64-14.1, this:
gcc-g++-4.8.@_multilib-x86_64-1alien.txz
should be:
gcc-g++-4.8.2_multilib-x86_64-1alien.txz

The lftp command seems to download every version of multilib ever… was taking quite, quite a long time (starting from 13.0 through versions of 14 when all I wanted was current)!–dchmelik 2020/7/29
