[2024-feb-29] Sad news: Eric Layton aka Nocturnal Slacker aka vtel57 passed away on Feb 26th, shortly after hospitalization. He was one of our Wiki's most prominent admins. He will be missed.

When I first learned about real personal computers, it took me about an year to start playing with Unix and another half with Slackware. I think that only if you do not have a programmer's view about computers, you can not have it strongly sink into your mind forever.
