I'm currently messing around with my touchpad, and there's not really enough information here for me to really understand what I'm doing. A page that I am finding very helpful is https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics 
Maybe someone with experience tweaking their xorg.conf settings could add a little bit on this page, or create another page for it?
